A Nashville native and proud father of two sons, Ray’s journey is one of resilience, innovation, and empowerment.

As a child, Ray witnessed his biological father incarcerated for drug-related charges and his stepfather imprisoned for murder. Many of his weekends were spent visiting both men in prison, experiences that fueled his determination to break generational cycles and write his own legacy.

Ray holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Middle Tennessee State University. He has over 25 years of combined expertise in real estate, finance, and technology.

Seeking to expand his skill set, Ray completed a one-year coding bootcamp at Nashville Software School, equipping himself with software development. This technical foundation, combined with his entrepreneurial drive, led to the creation of Black Tech Mafia, a movement dedicated to empowering the Black community through technology, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

Ray’s passion for health-tech innovation was inspired by his personal battle with Type 1 diabetes. He founded the Diabetes Healthcare Company and developed A1C Plan, a diabetes care management platform designed to help individuals execute healthier lifestyles through technology and AI-powered tools.

Through BTM and his ventures, Ray continues to out hustle his situation, inspiring others to harness technology to transform their lives, build wealth, and create lasting impact.

Inspired by a Robert F. Smith interview titled Talks at GS – Robert Smith: The Fourth Industrial Revolution, Ray loves sharing the power of technology with the community.

Ray's personal mission statement is: "We are best suited to serve the people we once were."
